What Information Should the Consumer Have When Meeting with a Chapter 7 Attorney?

The Consumer should bring the following items to the meeting with his or her attorney:

  1. The most recent year’s tax return;
  2. The past six months of pay stubs or other form of pay advices;
  3. All of the consumer’s billing statements from creditors and bill collectors;
  4. Home mortgage statements;
  5. A valid drivers license or other governmental identification card;
  6. Any documents stemming from a pending law suit; and
  7. Any documents resulting from past tax debts.
