Mortgage Delinquency Rates (2nd Quarter, 2006)
Mortgage delinquency rates hit 2.32 percent for the second quarter of 2006. The rate had bottomed out at 2.06 percent in the fourth quarter of 2005, according to an analysis by Equifax/Moody’s Economy.com.
The portion of adjustable rate mortgages that were at least 90 days past due has risen to 141 percent in the past year. It appears that homeowners are starting to feel the pain of rising interest rates.
